When I arrived in Treviso, meeting my host family was nerve-wracking but exciting, once I got to know them, it was as if I’d known them for years. On Sundays they were nice enough to take me to other towns and cities close by, like Venice, Verona, Padua, Bassano del Grappa and more.
I loved my host family and we have kept in touch since I left. Having school 6 days a week was different from what I’m used to but finishing at lunch time was great.
All the people I met along the way were all so kind and I believe I have made lifelong friends.
Overall, it was an experience I will always cherish and one that I would highly recommend taking part in.
I loved learning about the language, the culture and their lifestyle, specifically how it differs to an Australian lifestyle.
